Lions Bay Search and Rescue has been tasked to respond to a wildfire near the Mount Unnecessary and Erin Moore trails.
We are working with Metro Vancouver and Fire under Unified Command to contain the area and evacuate hikers. We are also concurrently dealing with a rescue from Magnesia Meadows.
Please stay away from the area. This is an active emergency, and emergency services require clear access via Oceanview Road.
If you are currently on the trails, do not return via mount Unnessary or the Erin Moore Trails. Please use a different evacuation point and follow directions from emergency personnel.
