Lions Bay Search and Rescue responders maintain advanced medical skills specifically adapted for wilderness and remote environments. Medical care is delivered in challenging terrain, adverse weather, and prolonged patient contact scenarios, often with limited resources and delayed evacuation timelines.

Team members are trained to provide immediate emergency care as well as advanced wilderness medical interventions to assess, stabilize, and manage patients until transfer to a higher level of care is possible. All medical operations emphasize patient safety, evidence-based practice, and field-appropriate treatment consistent with provincial SAR operating guidelines.

LBSAR’s medical capability is supported by members holding a wide range of professional qualifications, including Emergency Medical Responders (EMR), Primary Care Paramedics (PCP), Advanced Care Paramedics (ACP), and licensed emergency and critical care physicians. This depth of expertise enhances on-scene decision-making, medical oversight, and patient outcomes during complex and extended rescue operations.
