Swiftwater rescue capabilities are essential for safe and effective operations in fast-moving streams, rivers, and flood-affected terrain. These dynamic environments present unique hazards, including strong currents, submerged obstacles, and rapidly changing water levels, which can complicate both search and rescue tasks and public safety.
Our team trains extensively in rescue techniques specific to moving water, integrating rope systems, boat handling, and trained swimmer skills to locate, stabilize, and extricate subjects while maintaining the highest standards of responder safety.

Swiftwater Rescue qualifications are structured in progressive levels of competency. Each level builds upon foundational water rescue skills, advancing toward more complex scenarios involving upstream and downstream rescue techniques, boat-based rescue, and coordinated team operations. As with other technical disciplines, ongoing training and currency are critical; members are required to complete annual recurrency and a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education and practical skills training to maintain operational readiness.
